Bénédicte Pourchet: Born and raised in Paris, France, Bénédicte started drawing and taking art classes at the age of 10. Her passion for art developed when she met Jeannie Cusenier, a professional painter, winner of the "Prix de Rome," and her mentor for many years. During high school and college (1985 – 1992), she studied drawing, painting and engraving at the Arts Décoratifs and Beaux Arts schools in Paris. She moved to San Diego in 1992 to complete her business education, and discovered California and San Francisco. Her love of California paved the way for her move in 1997 to San Francisco where the beauty of her natural environment continues to inspire her work.
